ABOUT

What is Fluid Attire?

FluidAttire is art in motion. My artwork is all about color and movement and our line of apparel reflects that style. We’ve used the images of my original fluid acrylic paintings as inspiration to design a line of athletic and athleisure wear to fit every body. If you’d like to see more about my paintings, you may visit artbymolly.com. We are passionate about making bodies in motion not only feel good, but also look good!

How did it happen?

My very dear friend and business partner, Jessica Perry, is the inspiration for FluidAttire. We met when she was born and have over the years developed an incredibly close friendship. When she was about 6 years old, she wanted to be a fashion designer. One day while scuba diving together, we were both taken aback by the beauty of the tropical fish. We drew pictures of “fish fashion” and decided then that we would someday design an apparel line of our own. It was Jessie’s eye that caught how my artwork could be designed into clothing for people of any gender identity. Now here we are (some 20 years later) using images of my original fluid acrylic paintings to create original apparel.

Jessica's "day job" is being a circus instructor and artist. In her community there are more and more trans artists fighting for visibility. She began to engage and speak with them one on one and discovered how limited the clothing industry is when it comes to gender and athletic clothing. She decided she wanted to make a place where her trans friends could buy clothing meant for them.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to grow an athletic brand where everyone can find their true colors within our original art. Fluid Attire: Art in motion, where everyone deserves to be visible.

Who are we?

Molly - Owner, artist, designer

My artist is my inner child. The playful child that has no boundaries and does not “paint between the lines.”

I grew up in the 60s: the days of rock & roll and free living, the days of the flower children. And I was one of them. It was a time that I could invent myself however I chose. And I chose to be an artist. I found freedom in modern dance, love of music, and the beauty of movement. Over the years, I have taken that inner child in many artistic directions. That is, until I discovered fluid acrylic painting. There is no other other medium that I know of, that gives me such freedom of color, movement and texture.

Why do I paint? I do it because it calms my soul. I completely lose myself in colors and shapes. It is my daily meditation. My flow acrylic painting is accidental art. I don't know what I will paint before I start each piece and I don't plan the outcome. I start and end with something fun. Art is the honey of my soul.

Jessica Perry- Director of design and social media

Jessica grew up being toted around in a rock climbing rucksack, carried to mountain tops and across continents. The intrepid attitude rubbed off from her parents and she followed her passion and inquisitive instinct into, not only, performing arts, but all manner of arts!

Jessica began with flying trapeze and aerial acrobatics in Colorado as a teenager. When the time came, she was accepted to the Bachelor’s degree program for circus at the National Centre for Circus Arts in London where she also performed with Stufish Productions in SOHO and CIRCA in Depart. Since her graduation, she has been traveling around Europe and Australia, working with AIDA Cruise Productions, Creactive by Cirque du Soleil, and Emerald City Trapeze Arts.

Recklessly inquisitive about the mundane and the extraordinary, Jessica has always been fascinated by what makes an artist tick. She loves to dive deep into her own art as well as that of others and showcase what is underneath the aesthetic on the surface. She believes the human body is a living breathing piece of art, so why not dress it up!
